Spend the day with the Friends of Swan Tavern, the Charlton Historical Society, and the Sturbridge Historical Society as we explore how, when, and where the American Revolution shaped Central Massachusetts.

September 10th 2026 - 7pm, Rider Tavern: Jonathan Lane, Executive Director of Revolution 250 will present “The Battle of Rhode Island”. Many militia from Charlton and surrounding towns answered the alarm. All are welcome.
September 24th 2026 - 7pm, Rider Tavern: Trivia Night! Come test your knowledge of Charlton history, lots of laughs and make new friends. Members free, non-members $5.00.
October 3rd 2026 - All day: “Tavern Crawl”, the Friends of Swan Tavern in Leicester, the Charlton Historical Society and the Sturbridge Historical Society have been working hard to plan a full day of history, learning, tours, and friends.
October 17th 2026 - Rider Tavern:
9am-12pm, Annual Attic sale, Tavern will be open for self tours.
2pm-5pm, Halloween Family Fun Day, featuring trick‑or‑treating throughout Rider Tavern, games, a bake sale, a raffle, and much more. All proceeds benefit the Student Essay Contest held each spring. Bring a non‑perishable food item for the local food bank and receive three raffle tickets. If you or someone you know owns a business and would like to contribute, we are gratefully accepting donations to be raffled off.
